You've Captured the "Moment"

I hate it when people comment on your photos and they end up saying "Beautiful/Stunning, you really captured the moment there."

Um, well, what moment? The moment that my model was standing in a room posing, waiting for me to take an image of her?

I'd understand this if it was a photo of a child smiling, or the wheel of a race car flying off - you know, something that the "moment" actually is a moment in time.

Just felt like I'd rant, because I've seen too many of those comments today while browsing photos from other photographers, oddly enough, most of the time that kinda comment was left, it happened to be a nude shot. So let me understand this, the moment is when the model happens to be naked?

Arrgh... ok... get your minds out of the gutter people. If you're going to comment on a photo, at least take the time to consider what you're actually are saying.

Rant over.

So, they shot me with a Laser!

Being a photographer really means walking around, often in really dodgy areas, with really expensive equipment. But, you can't go and take photographs without taking your expensive camera out; so we're forced to basically to take risks.

Of course we take precautions, sadly though, sometimes the wierdest things can happen...

Like for example, somebody shooting a freaking laser beam into your camera and burning the sensor - basically rendering your camera useless. Like what happend to me.

Yes, I am serious ... and I have some before and after photos to prove that, sometime, shit happens. If you'd like to see them, just e-mail me and I'll forward them onto you. photo@frankmoody.com
